Celebrating Diwali at School: A Festival of Lights and Creativity
Our students embraced the spirit of Diwali - the Festival of Lights with enthusiasm, creativity, and a strong sense of community. In the lead-up to the celebration, our students were buzzing with vibrant activities designed to help everyone learn about and enjoy this important cultural festival.
In the days leading up to Diwali, a student-led social media campaign brought the festive spirit online. Each day featured a new post that shared fun facts, traditions, and cultural highlights about Diwali, helping raise awareness across our school community.
After school, students participated in creative workshops, including making beautiful tea light holders out of air-dry clay. These handmade decorations reflected the artistic talents of our students and the symbolic use of light during Diwali celebrations.
Lunchtime saw another burst of colour and teamwork as students came together to decorate the school entrance with stunning rangoli designs. Using chalks, they created intricate patterns that welcomed everyone with warmth and festivity.
To further extend the celebration to every classroom, a special PowerPoint presentation was created for form time. This included a fun and educational quiz that tested students’ knowledge of Diwali and encouraged meaningful conversations about the festival’s significance.
We’re proud of the way our students brought Diwali to life this year through learning, sharing, and creating together. Their efforts not only brightened our school environment but also helped build a deeper understanding and appreciation of cultural diversity.
