World AIDS Day: Raising Awareness Through Allyship
To mark World AIDS Day, our incredible Allyship students led a thoughtful and impactful series of activities to raise awareness and show solidarity.
They created and shared their own quiz, sparking meaningful discussions about the history of HIV/AIDS and the impact it had—especially on the LGBTQ+ community. Key historic events were explored, and students reflected on the social and political challenges faced during the height of the crisis.
A powerful PowerPoint presentation, was shared in all form groups to educate the wider student body on the importance and legacy of World AIDS Day.
As part of enrichment, students also designed and created their own quilt and patchwork artwork, inspired by the UK AIDS Memorial Quilt. These pieces served as a tribute to lives lost and as a celebration of resilience and community.
To support fundraising efforts, red ribbons were sold throughout the week, with all proceeds going to charity. It was a moving and educational initiative that truly captured the spirit of allyship and remembrance.
